My Chicago Bridal Shower

On Saturday, I celebrated my bridal shower in Chicago with dear friends, family, and my six bridesmaids! I’m still feeling the love days later, and am happy to share a few photos and favorite memories from the celebration. My bridal shower was held at Blue Door Kitchen & Garden, one of my personal favorite restaurants in Chicago. Once I discovered the private dining room upstairs, I knew it was perfect for our group! Everything from the food and drinks, decor, and music was perfect at Blue Door. (p.s. Thanks to my friend, Anastasia, for the cute GIF animation of the ‘game’ portion of the shower that included Kevin!)

My longtime family friend, Anne, worked with Pistil & Vine on beautiful flowers for the day, along with fresh rosemary and bay leaves that were beautifully placed on each guest’s place setting. My bridesmaid, Sara, welcomed everyone with the sweetest champagne toast I’ll forever remember, while another bridesmaid of mine, Katie, organized a cute (and fun!) Q&A game based around Kevin & me. (See the mix of silly and sentimental questions above.) Bridesmaid Morgan put together the most amazing gift bags for guests, including a bottle of rosé, my favorite travel candle, and homemade macaroons. Bridesmaid Amy was a major help in keeping me organized while opening gifts and with writing thank-you notes for each guest. Following the bridal shower, we transitioned to bachelorette festivities — which I have Alexis and Allison to majorly thank for instigating! The girls planned a crazy fun night out, which started at The Ambassador (where our rooms were fully stocked with wine and treats), then we headed for drinks at Ally’s, dinner at Beacon Tavern, followed by bar hopping — concluding on the dance floor at Celeste until 4AM. The following day, we enjoyed a leisurely brunch at Maple & Ash… highly recommend!

The entire weekend was a whirlwind of fun. Beyond all the pretty details and fun plans, my bridal shower (and bachelorette!) was so special because of the wonderful people in my life I’m able to celebrate with. With less than 3 months to go before our wedding, Kevin and I are soaking up every minute of our engagement! I am so thankful.
