5 Chicago Spots I’m Loving

I’m often asked Chicago recommendations — whether it’s favorite restaurants, shops, and things to do. Here are 5 Chicago spots I’m personally loving lately…

Tied House

New to my neighborhood this year, Tied House is a welcome addition to Lakeview. The space is clearly stunning, but the restaurant has true chops, too. (The chef is James Beard accredited.) Tied House also has a great cocktails and wine list, along with a beautiful patio for the summer months. Added bonus: Tied House is directly connected to old-time Chicago legendary bar, Schuba’s.

Okay, okay. You’ve definitely seen me post photos from The Allis several times by now. Because it truly is a personal favorite! The Allis is a restaurant at Soho House, which is a private club — but The Allis is open for all to enjoy. From day to night, it’s a popular spot in the West Loop for coffee, co-working, lunch dates or cocktails. The Allis also serves a traditional English tea service from 2:30-5:00PM daily.

Maple & Ash

Maple & Ash is, without doubt, one of the best brunches in Chicago. You’ll find the atmosphere, service, and food top-notch. It’s upper scale, but fun — perfect for a special occasion or celebration. (I enjoyed a leisurely champagne brunch here with girlfriends during my bachelorette weekend.) Located in Chicago’s Gold Coast, add Maple & Ash to your list. I’m dying to return for dinner!

RM Champagne

Since opening in 2012, RM Champagne has a personal favorite spot of mine. Come to think of it: I’ve celebrated a handful of occasions here… like Kevin and my’s anniversary, a work promotion, birthdays, asking a bridesmaid to be part of our wedding… it goes on! Tucked away in an alley in the West Loop, RM Champagne has a charming patio outdoors and a cozy, dimly lit interior for dining.

The Ambassador is an iconic hotel in Chicago, that’s accommodated several celebrities and dignitaries over the years. Located in the heart of Gold Coast, its location is prime for exploring the neighborhood including Oak Street, Rush, and the lakefront. The Ambassador also has two amazing options for food and drink, Booth One and The Library Bar.
