Blood Orange Margarita Cocktail

blood orange cocktail
TGIF! Who else is ready for the weekend to begin? In case your evening entails a little entertaining, this recipe for Blood Orange Margaritas looks fantastic. Blood oranges happen to be in season this time of year, and make for a perfectly tart and refreshing treat. The fruit has a unique flavor compared to traditional oranges, being similar in taste to red raspberry. Here’s a quick, 3-ingredient recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
• 3 oz pressed juice from fresh blood oranges (If you can’t find blood oranges, try Trop50 Red Orange juice)
• 2 oz Tequila
• 1 oz  Triple Sec
• splash of agave nectar (optional)
Directions: Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, add ice and shake for 15 seconds. Strain and pour into an old-fashioned glass over a few ice cubes. Serve and enjoy!
