Are We Ready to Get Dressed Again?

The year 2020 won’t be remembered as a fashion-forward year. The pandemic and “stay at home” orders had most of us placing comfort over style. And personally speaking: I had just had a baby and was focused on life as a new mom. Occasions to dress, along with my motivation to do so, felt non-existent. And rightfully so.

Perhaps it’s the new year, or spring season, or now living in New York City where observing street style is a spectator sport: I find myself putting in more of an effort. Getting dressed feels fun again.

Not to say I’m doing anything groundbreaking, but I’ve felt so much better putting on a pair of jeans with a pretty blouse on top and structured flats.

At this stage, I’m reaching for those classic, spring essentials I find appealing and practical for my life right now. I’m mostly wearing neutrals, because it feels fresh for spring — and frankly, it’s easy to piece neutrals together in an outfit.
