Be My Valentine

posted on: Monday, February 12, 2018

Roses are red, violets are blue... here's a little love from ME to YOU! In honor of Valentine's Day on Wednesday, I hope you're feeling the love this week. I know some of us like the holiday more than others, but I couldn't resist pulling together a collection of cute gift ideas (details below) as well as sharing two of my favorite posts from the past: 20 Simple and Sweet Ideas to Celebrate Valentine's Day — and if you're local, or are visiting the Windy City: 13 Winter Date Spots in Chicago. Happy Valentine's everyone! xx

Sometimes, the simplest formula to getting dressed is going monochromatic. I wore this (nearly) head-to-toe black look on a recent trip to New Orleans, featuring this drape trench coat (now $21),  a lace tank, and faux leather leggings, accessorized with satin mules and a black quilted bag. Truth be told: I found this bag on a whim at Forever21...! Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a link to the bag online, but you might just have luck finding it in store, if interested.

Trench Coat (Romwe c/o) | Lace Tank (H&M) | Leather Leggings (Nordstrom) | Satin Mules (Dolce Vita) | Bag (Forever21) | Cuff (Gas Bijoux) | Bracelet (similar) | Sunglasses (CĂ©line)

Style Me Pretty: Our Save-the-Dates

posted on: Tuesday, February 6, 2018

I'm excited to share a sneak peek of our wedding save-the-dates, today on Style Me Pretty! To create our paper suite, I've had the pleasure of working directly with Scriptura, a letterpress design studio based in New Orleans. (If you follow me on Instagram, you may recall a behind the scenes look at their letterpress in action!) The focal point of our save-the-date is a crest incorporating our initials and a fleur de lis, flanked by branches — which I think is a nice nod to our wedding venue in the Garden District. Click over to Style Me Pretty for the full feature, along with a Q&A session addressing common questions about wedding paper etiquette and timeline.

I should also mention these photos were taken at Cafe Spiaggia, which would be the perfect setting for a Chicago bridal shower, bachelorette brunch or engagement party! xx
