10+ Things to Love About Fall

posted on: Thursday, October 19, 2017

This time of year is quickly becoming my favorite, when the days cools down and richer colors outdoors begin to pop. Are you ready to embrace autumn? (I am!) Here's a round-up of things I'm looking forward to  this season and love about fall...

OUTDOOR OUTINGS  |  Between apple picking and football tailgates, getting outside as much as possible during fall is a necessity.

THANKSGIVING  |  A holiday all about giving thanks, appreciating family, and of course: good food.

CASHMERE  |  Whether it's a sweater or scarf, cashmere deserves a spot in everyone's wardrobe.

SEASONAL SIPS  |  I'll personally pass on the 'PSL,' but I'm all about spiced apple cider or a chai tea.

BAKING  |  I made pumpkin spice muffins last week (yum!) and saved more recipes to try on Pinterest.

BOOTS  |  Dare I say I'm happy to be wearing boots again? These over-the-knee pair are on my wish list, but I also love these (they're weatherproof and now on sale).

COZINESS  |  I mean, is there anything better in fall than cozying up with a blanket and candle in front of a fire? Cliché, but so good!

When it comes to autumn, coziness is key! Lately at home, I've been feeling gilded golds, warm ivories, and accents of black. It's all about ambiance — I always associate the fall season with crackling fires, scented candles, faux fur throws ... and pumpkins, of course.

Greetings from New Orleans

posted on: Wednesday, October 11, 2017

After an eventful week in New Orleans, I'm happy to share a bit more of our visit — and wedding planning progress! As some of you may know, we booked our venue earlier this winter (totally site unseen) — so this was our very first time seeing where we'll say "I do." Much to our excitement and happiness, the setting is absolutely beautiful in person. It's located in the Garden District, and has amazing architectural detail and a charming courtyard. The rest you'll see later ;) We also met with a handful of vendors, like our coordinator, florist, lighting team, and the stationers creating our suite at Scriptura. (It was so cool to see more of the design process and their letterpress studio in action!) We loved our stay at International House hotel and enjoyed local food spots, like Sylvain, Seaworthy, Atchafalaya, Cavan, Brennan's, Domenica and more. Here's to an exciting year ahead!

Good morning, friends... and happy October! This month is already off to a great start, for me personally. I'm visiting New Orleans this week for a little wedding planning action (feel free to tag along the fun on Instagram). And, some very exciting news is on the horizon... I'm so excited to share more with you soon! For now, here's a look I've been gravitating to lately: fall florals and a long cardigan. I highly recommend this cardi... it comes in multiple colors and can be worn so many different ways, across the seasons.
