Loving Lately

Ah, yes... new arrivals for fall. (With the first day of September arriving tomorrow, I couldn't resist!). If you haven't clicked over to the boutique recently, I've added lots of new styles — clothing, shoes, beauty and more. I'll continue to update throughout the season, so keep an eye out! Some personal favorites of mine are: this cozy cashmere drape sweater, a structured leather bag, this chic long-sleeve dress (on sale), these leopard flats, a classic camel coat, and this universally flattering shade of lip gloss. What's on your personal wish list for fall?

Hi y'all, hope you had a great weekend! My parents visited Chicago for a few days, and we had the best time at Ravinia listening to live music in the park, plus a fun night downtown. Yesterday, I (tried) to beat the summer heat with a low-key day around my neighborhood and at the harbor. These lightweight denim shorts have been a favorite of mine to wear all summer, along with these mid-heel rockstud sandals that dress up any outfit. If you're on the search for similar pair for less, these sandals look worth a try!

Summer Best

Happy Friday, friends! Before we say farewell to summer, I want to thank you for reading these past months and share some of the posts you loved best. My summer began with a big road trip out west and continued here home in Chicago, enjoying the lake and beach, summer holidays and festivals, and exploring the city with friends and family. Some of my favorite warm-weather pieces I wore again (and again) were this colorful maxi dress, these blocked heels under $100, this pair denim cut-off shorts, a gold pendant necklace and these embellished sandals. Thank you, all, for sharing a great summer with me, and I look forward to lots of exciting things to come this fall!

I hate to say it, but cooler days in the city have felt AMAZING lately. The dog days of summer have hit and I'm craving the beginning the fall. (Anyone else?) Until then: a sporadic crisp morning will do! Earlier last week, I wore this lightweight cardigan near one of the more iconic spots in Chicago, overlooking the river at the Wrigley Building. The view always catches my breath, no matter how many times I've seen it. Soon enough, the colors along the river will changing... Are you looking forward to the new season?

Summer Berry Cocktail

posted on: Friday, August 19, 2016

Cheers to Friday! With summer winding down, I'm keeping tabs on my summer fun list and trying to make the most of each sunny day. This week, I hit the Museum of Contemporary Art. If you're local to Chicago: I recommend going on Tuesdays, when admission is free and there's live music on the terrace. I made these cocktails at home before heading to the museum, which are perfect for summer sipping. Light and refreshing, using seasonal berries — and easy to serve for friends.

INGREDIENTS
• 1 cup strawberries
• 1 cup raspberries
• 1 cup blueberries
• fresh mint leaves
• agave, to taste
• 1 cup clear rum
• 1 cup of ice
• 2 cups raspberry lemonade

DIRECTIONS
Place berries, mint and agave in a cocktail shaker. Muddle mixture with the end of a wooden spoon. Add rum and ice, then shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Pour into serving pitcher, or divide the mixture directly among individual cocktail glasses. Top with with lemonade and stir. Garnish with remaining berries and mint. Enjoy!
