4th of July Style

posted on: Monday, June 27, 2016

Can you believe 4th of July is almost here?! The holiday has always been one of my favorites, as it's a chance to enjoy the best of midsummer and celebrate our country. Do you have any fun plans for the big weekend? (I'll be spending the holiday just across the border near New Buffalo, Michigan... I can't wait!) To begin getting in the spirit, I thought I'd share a little all-American red, white, and blue. I have my eye on this fitted white dress, a top-rated chambray shirt, this nautical tunic and a cute romper to wear with these classic sandals. I also recently picked up this pair of denim shorts, which fit amazing and come recommended by yours truly. If you're looking for additional inspiration for the long weekend (including style, décor, recipes and more), see what I'm pinning here.

Off the Shoulder

Happy Friday, all! I wore this white off-the-shoulder dress last Saturday in Wisconsin, celebrating Father's Day. It was so fun being home together with everyone — including my little niece, Emma, who turns 2 next month. I love keeping up with her (and our family dog, Bailey) tearing around the backyard! Summer weekends are the absolute best, don't you agree? Hope you enjoy yours upcoming!

Black + White Floral

posted on: Monday, June 20, 2016

Happy Monday! I'm getting back in the swing of things after a fun weekend at home celebrating Father's Day. (Love you, Dad!). I wore this black and white floral midi dress Sunday, which is perfectly lightweight and flowy for a warm summer day. I imagine I'll be wearing the dress again for upcoming weddings and parties this summer! Browse this style below, along with additional favorite dresses by Banana Republic this season.

Thank you to Banana Republic for partnering this post!

At Home

When it comes to home décor, I admitedly gravitate toward neutrals — and introduce more color, depending on the season or my mood. I love the flexibility to switch things up, whether it's with a colorful throw blanket or printed pillows. I recently came across these Moroccan print pillows by Minted, which are a perfect compliment to my existing décor — and can easily mix and match with rotating pieces, as well. (If you're curious about Minted pillows, you can select from a range of sizes, color, and fabric grade. I chose the 'luxury linen,' which is beautiful in person.) Now, if only we could all enjoy a Friday glass of wine together around the coffee table ;) Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Ladylike at Art Institute

posted on: Monday, June 13, 2016

As long as I can remember, my first memories of visiting Chicago as a young girl revolve around the Art Institute. Growing up, I was always fairly artistic and loved doing anything creative. (Apparently, I was known to take crayons and markers to furniture when I was little... sorry, Mom!) So when my parents would take my brother and I on visits to the "big city," I became excited our typical itineraries included time at the Art Institute. Even years (well, decades) later: I still feel sentimental and admiration for this special spot in the city. If you've never been, the museum is filled with impressive exhibits and is surrounded by beautiful gardens on its exterior. Explore a little further, and you're at the heart of the city at Millennium Park and Grant Park. Whether you're visiting or are a local to Chicago, a trip to the Art Institute is always memorable.
