Weekend Luxe

posted on: Friday, January 29, 2016

There are a few little luxuries I cherish — especially on weekends — like: super soft sheets, a cup of really good coffee, and a pair of cozy pajamas. That, and, making extra time for Pinterest and catching up on reading! Lately, I'm wearing this soft pink pajama set by Hanro, a luxury sleepwear and lingerie brand I've come to love. The pajama set happily travelled with me this past week in New Orleans at our stay at International House. Hanro collection can be found at Neiman Marcus, BarneysBloomingdales and Bergdorf Goodman — which you can browse favorites below. What weekend indulgences do you appreciate most?

Thank you to Hanro for partnering this post.

Greetings from New Orleans

Hi friends! Checking in from New Orleans. This week has been a whirlwind of fun, exploring NOLA for the first time. My boyfriend and I have fallen in love with New Orleans, staying in the French Quarter and venturing around its charismatic streets, shops, restaurants, historic sites and surrounding neighborhoods. The live music and southern hospitality don't hurt, either! I can't imagine a better place to celebrate my birthday this year. (Today, I'm 28!) I can't wait for what this next year has in store and continue to share with you. Until then, see you later this week!

At My Desk

posted on: Wednesday, January 20, 2016

As promised, I'm excited to share a peek of my home office with you! My desk has been with me since sophomore year of college (thanks, Mom + Dad!) — and I've enjoyed updating my workspace over the past decade, evolving with my life stage, style and focus. The latest addition is this beautiful framed piece by Minted, a limited edition print by Adrienne Jackson. While I gravitate toward traditional lines and styles in other areas at home, the workspace is one where I like to keep things light and fun — and I think this piece is pretty perfect. If you're looking to add framed art at home, I highly recommend checking out Minted. I could get lost browsing pieces and artists for hours!

Today's look is a mix of classic pieces I already own and love to wear, like a ponte-knit dress, a soft scarf and black suede boots — paired along newer styles with a bit more edge, including gold statement jewelry, a felt hat and this fabulous structured bag. Remember last week's post on ways to start the new year right? Re-organizing my closet has brought favorite pieces to the forefront and encouraged me to get more creative in styling outfits in a new way. This look was perfect for a coffee date last week at Soho House followed by an afternoon meeting in River North. Wishing you a great week ahead — and Chicago readers... stay warm!

Just a little reminder as we approach the weekend... :) This week, for me, was a good one — and left me feeling more inspired, motivated, and thankful than ever for this space. Whether we know each other in real life, our paths have crossed in the past, or are new 'digital' friends, I love the opportunity to connect with you. Thank you for continuing to visit here and on Instagram! So what's new for next week? I'm excited to share a glimpse into my home office, as well as an outfit post and the beginnings of an impromptu trip to New Orleans. (Stay tuned!) Wishing you a happy weekend, wherever it finds you!

Wishing you a very happy new year! Before we fully embrace 2016, I wanted to take a minute and celebrate a few highlights from this past year. Looking back on 2015, I've had the opportunity to work with some pretty amazing brands, like Lilly Pulitzer, vineyard vines, Veuve Clicquot, The Four Seasons and The Everygirl. Many of you loved these posts: 15 tips for new bloggers, 9 ways to add character to your homebest spots for summer happy hour in Chicago and 10 tips for better iPhone pictures. Personally, I won't soon forget this beautiful rooftop dinner, a winter visit to Colorado, a weekend full of 4th of July celebrations, cherishing fall in Lincoln Park and a chance to interview beauty icon, Bobbi Brown. I've met new friends, editors, designers and talented partners here in Chicago, as well as across the country. And, of course: YOU! Thank you for continuing to visit and support this blog I started 2+ years ago. Looking forward to 2016, I can't wait to share exciting content in the works for this upcoming year. As always, feel free to chime in with comments at the bottom of each post, or connect with me on Instagram or Facebook. Here's to another great year ahead!
