Ladylike at Art Institute

As long as I can remember, my first memories of visiting Chicago as a young girl revolve around the Art Institute. Growing up, I was always fairly artistic and loved doing anything creative. (Apparently, I was known to take crayons and markers to furniture when I was little… sorry, Mom!) So when my parents would take my brother and I on visits to the “big city,” I became excited our typical itineraries included time at the Art Institute. Even years (well, decades) later: I still feel sentimental and admiration for this special spot in the city. If you’ve never been, the museum is filled with impressive exhibits and is surrounded by beautiful gardens on its exterior. Explore a little further, and you’re at the heart of the city at Millennium Park and Grant Park. Whether you’re visiting or are a local to Chicago, a trip to the Art Institute is always memorable.
