Happy Friday! Chicago has been unseasonably warm lately — 60s in December... who would've thought? Though I am still wishing for a white Christmas, I admit it's been nice wearing light layers and winter pastels without a heavy coat in tow. This pretty faux fur scarf is by WORN, a non-profit organization that supports refugee women and their families. Each item by WORN is hand-knit in the USA by women who have survived afflictions of war-torn and poverty-stricken homelands. I know Christmas and the holidays can sometimes feel focused around material items and such. It's important to remember these gifts are symbols of appreciation and love for family and friends, and there are so many other ways to contribute to the lives of those that aren’t as fortunate during the holidays. 100% of net profits of this scarf (and all WORN items) are used for women's wages and this adorable knit hat would be the cutest winter accessory for little ones! If you're a local reader, here are ways to give back and volunteer in Chicago.
