10 Favorite Candles for Fall

posted on: Tuesday, September 30, 2014

Once autumn arrives, I like to switch out my summery candles — like citrus and light floral scents — for warmer, woodsier options. There’s something so relaxing about cozying up with a soft sweater and lighting a scented candle in the cooler months. With scents like cinnamon, vanilla and cedarwood, here I'm sharing my favorite fall candles. Do you have any fall favorites of your own? Let me know in the comments section below, or on Facebook!

One: Voluspa Clove Pomander Warm notes of pear, spice, bergamot and nutmeg.
Two: Diptyque Vanille An elegant vanilla scent softened by smooth, woody accents.
Three: Illume Guilded Amberleaf Rich cedarwood and golden amber infused with mandarin, vanilla and tobacco.
Four: Linnea's Lights Cashmere Sophisticated and soft scent, with patchouli, vanilla & lime.
Five: Voluspa Golden Cypress Smells like clean, sugary balsam of a snapped cypress needle.
Six: Diptyque Feu de Bois Fragrance reminiscent of a real wood fireplace.
Seven: Capri Blue Volcano Delicious blend of tropical fruits and sugared oranges, with crisp mountain greens.
Eight: Found Goods Market Mahogany Smells like mahogany wood, white musk and a hint of fresh freesia.
Nine: Pottery Barn Pine Berry A warm scent of cinnamon, apple, Valencia orange, and sandalwood.
Ten: Nest Pumpkin Chai Cozy autumn blend of pumpkin, chai, and cinnamon.

Cardigan + White Denim

Dressing for fall is the best, isn't it? As much as I love summery silhouettes and bright colors, I'm ready to transition to autumn — especially with pieces like this dusty rose sweater and tan suede boots. I'm also loving this pair of white jeans, which are super comfortable and even long enough for me to cuff (I'm 5'10"). When I find a pair of jeans that fit well, I typically buy multiple pairs — so I have my eye on these for later in the season (now on sale for an additional 25% off). I hope you're having a great week!

Autumn To-Do

posted on: Monday, September 22, 2014

One of my favorite things about the seasons is taking part in traditions — and creating new ones! So to celebrate the beginning of autumn, I put together a little list of fun things to do during the fall season:

• Pick apples.
• Carve a pumpkin.
• Sip apple cider.
• Stroll a farmers market.
• Visit a Chicago museum.
• Try a new recipe at home.
• Volunteer in the community.
• Dress in costume for Halloween.
• Attend a football game (or two!)
• Unplug for 24 hours.

What autumn traditions are your favorite? Is there anything you would add to the list? I'd love to hear!
