let’s connect

This morning, I want to thank you all for reading this new blog of mine and leaving such positive comments. I really appreciate all the love, as I’m growing bright and beautiful. Besides you and a few close friends & family members, I haven’t told anyone else yet about this blog. (It’s been my little secret these past few months!)
If you’d like to follow along, head over to Bloglovin’ to keep up with posts, or visit Pinterest for daily inspiration. I also recently created Twitter and Facebook pages, as well. And please, feel free to leave your links in a comment, too!
I want to know: How did you begin blogging? When and how did you reveal your blog to friends and family? I’d love to hear any advice on how you got started in the blog world!

  1. i just stumbled upon your blog through a comment you left on someone else's blog (can't remember whose now) and i am so glad i did! you have such a wel-curated space!

i just recently started blogging about a month ago and i totally kept it a secret at first too. it is a fashion blog so i was taking outfit pictures on self timer from the trunk of my car hahaha. i had only told two friends about it since they had been some of the biggest ones pushing me to finally go for it and after about two weeks i decided to post it to instagram. then one night, my husband was at a friends and his friend's fiance was like "your wife's blog is so cute!" and he was like "ummm what blog?" so that night he asked me and i told him. i thought he would think it was dumb (hence keeping it a secret) but he was actually proud of me since i had been wanting to start one for so long.
then about a week later i decided to post it on facebook and that's when i got the biggest influx of traffic. now i try to post to facebook whenever i have a new post as well as to instagram when i have outfit posts and you would be surprised how much more traffic you get!

you should definitely start telling people! i was so nervous that people would think it was dumb but absolutely no one has made me feel that way; instead everyone is proud and kind of impressed!

    *sorry for the rambles*

    • Mary-Katherine, thank you oh-so much for your post! It's nice to hear from someone who's gone through these same feelings when first starting to blog, revealing the "secret," and succeeding 🙂 Thanks for sharing your experience and bits of advice! Looking forward to keeping up with your blog, too. xo

Hi! I found your blog through your comment on my post (welcome and thanks for reading!)

I started my blog in January and didn't tell anyone about it until after I went to the Making Things Happen conference (google this if you've never heard of it, seriously life changing!) and realized that there was no point in hiding something I was proud of!

Since then, I post each post to Facebook and have such a positive response. I've had people I haven't spoken to in 5+ years message me after different posts to thank me for them and to tell me how much they love the blog. I've found that there hasn't been any negative feedback, I can just tell when someone doesn't mention the blog and I know they've read it, that it's not their kind of thing. Which is cool! And I much appreciate silence to harsh words.

So excited for you and this space, cannot wait to read more, I've been digging through your archives all night!
